Former Singularity player Alfred "RuStY" Karlsson will be Red Reserve's fifth player at DreamHack Open Montreal, team coach Christian "chrille" Lindberg has revealed.
The 20-year-old will be replacing Hampus "hampus" Poser, who is unable to make the trip to Montreal after failing to recover from illness in time.
The news means that Red Reserve will be without one of their key players for the DreamHack tournament as hampus has been the team's top performer on LAN this year together with Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin, with both players averaging a 1.08 rating.
RuStY was last seen playing for Flow alongside his former Singularity teammates Hugo "HugoXD" Hallgren and Benjamin "BENDJI" Söderena, helping the team to win a spot at the event in Taiwan after they beat Flygplan in the final.
The 20-year-old is a former member of Red Reserve himself, having played for the organisation's previous team, whom he helped to second-place finishes at GeForce Cup 2017 and DreamHack Open Valencia 2017.
Red Reserve have been drawn in Group A along with ENCE, eUnited and Kinguin. In their first match on Canadian soil, the Swedish side will lock horns with Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas's men in a rematch of the recent Europe Minor's group elimination match.
This means that the Swedish team will attend the event, which will run from September 7-9, with the following line-up:
Simon "twist" Eliasson
Joakim "disco doplan" Gidetun
Fredrik "freddieb" Buö
Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin
Alfred "RuStY" Karlsson (stand-in)
Christian "chrille" Lindberg (coach)
